How to write a useful brief for an AI-built website
Replace a one-line prompt with a production brief covering goals, users, content, design rules and technical constraints.
A good website prompt is not a list of design adjectives. Start with the site goal and what the visitor should do in the first 30 seconds. Then define real pages, content types and which features must actually work.
For design, go beyond “modern and premium”: define colour ratio, typography character, density, navigation behaviour, themes and mobile priority. Once a screen works, lock the design system.
Finally define technical constraints: hosting, whether a build step is possible, existing PHP/SQLite environment, account requirements, data storage, SEO and legal pages. Clear constraints reduce the risk of getting a beautiful project you cannot deploy.
